Indiana Immediate Care, Girls School Rd - 650 N Girls School Rd, Indianapolis
I got online to schedule an "appointment" & received a text confirming my "appointment" time. I then received a text stating that it is a "first come, first serve" clinic. So why offer scheduling if it doesn't mean anything? Upon arrival I walked up to the check-in desk & was told to take a seat as there were other patients ahead of me. When I seemed confused, she stated that again. After a few minutes the receptionist called out "next patient!" We all looked around at each other to see who thought they were the next patient. In actuality, the wait wasn't long but I felt the check -in procedure was very inefficient. When I was taken back to the exam room, the smell was horrible! They had max strength plug-ins going and it was really bothering me! The Tech pulled it out of the wall but no need for something irritating like that in a medical setting. Overall the medical care I received was fine and thorough I just wasn't happy with the overall experience.

I got in somewhat quickly. Possibly because I booked an appointment and filled out my forms beforehand. It’s been over 24 hours since I have been there and unfortunately I feel worse. They could not figure out what was wrong with me.

About Gonorrhea Testing

Who should get tested for gonorrhea?

According to the CDC, anyone who is sexually active can get gonorrhea, particularly those with multiple sexual partners or those who don't use condoms regularly. It's especially important for sexually active women under 25, as well as older women with risk factors such as new or multiple sex partners, or a sex partner who has a sexually transmitted infection, to get tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for gonorrhea is crucial because it often has no symptoms, especially in women, but can lead to serious health complications, such as pelvic inflammatory disease and infertility. In men, gonorrhea can cause painful conditions in the tubes attached to the testicles, which could lead to infertility. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, preventing these complications.

Gonorrhea testing options in Brownsburg, IN:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics provide convenient, often same-day, gonorrhea testing. For instance, SMC Urgent Care in Brownsburg, IN, is a highly rated local option. You can book an appointment through Solv’s website or mobile app.

Primary care providers

Your primary care provider can also test for gonorrhea. If you don't have a primary care provider, Solv can help you find one in the Brownsburg area.

Free STD testing and community health centers

For those without insurance or who can't afford testing, free STD testing and community health centers are an option. These centers often provide testing for gonorrhea and other STDs/STIs.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits for gonorrhea are another convenient option. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then sent to a lab for testing.

Prevalence of gonorrhea in Brownsburg

While specific data for Brownsburg, IN, is not readily available, according to the CDC, gonorrhea rates have been rising in many parts of the country, including Indiana. It's important to note that this increase could be due to a number of factors, including increased testing and changes in sexual behavior.

Risk factors related to gonorrhea in Brownsburg

Risk factors for gonorrhea in Brownsburg are likely similar to those in other parts of the country. These include being sexually active, having multiple sexual partners, inconsistent condom use, and having a history of other STDs/STIs.

Other STDs in Brownsburg

In addition to gonorrhea, other STDs/STIs like chlamydia, HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis are also of concern. Regular testing for all STDs/STIs is recommended for those who are sexually active, especially if they have multiple partners or don't regularly use condoms.
