This is my second time to this facility. Each time everyone was courteous, kind, and very helpful. What I like most is that they listen to you, they let you know that whatever you are there for it’s important. From the person that checks in to the doctor, they are all thoughtful, kind, and with great bedside manners. Thank you for a pleasant experience because honestly no one wants to go to the doctor.

Had a great experience. It had a pleasant atmosphere. The doctor determined the problem in 2 minutes, gave me a breathing treatment with instructions how to use it and prescribed the proper medication for my sickness. I was out of there in 45 minutes with instructions to be out of work for 2 days. I was feeling better in 2 days but followed the doctors orders to stay inside for 4 days. I I would fully recommend this clinic.

I called ahead to this location and was told there were about nine people already waiting to be seen, and that that was consistent for the day up to my call. I also tried calling other locations without any success - the phone number was bad or nobody answered the call. So I went and was pleasantly surprised to see only one person in the lobby. I was assisted much sooner than expected. The longest delay was waiting for the doctor to arrive in my room, but even that was not too long. I left the building feeling very good about the services at this location.

Suffolk Chlamydia Testing

Who should get tested for chlamydia?

Chlamydia is a common sexually transmitted disease that can infect both men and women. According to the CDC, sexually active women under 25 years old should get tested annually. Older women with risk factors such as new or multiple sex partners, or a sex partner who has a sexually transmitted infection, should also get tested. Men who have sex with men should also get tested annually. If you live in Suffolk, VA, and fall into any of these categories, consider getting tested for chlamydia.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for chlamydia is crucial because it often doesn't present symptoms, but can lead to serious health problems if left untreated. This includes pelvic inflammatory disease in women, which can lead to infertility, and epididymitis in men, which can also cause infertility. According to the CDC, regular testing can help detect chlamydia and prevent these complications.

Prevalence of chlamydia in Suffolk

The prevalence of chlamydia in Suffolk, VA, is a concern. While exact figures are not readily available, the CDC reports that chlamydia rates have been on the rise nationally, and Suffolk is not immune to this trend. It's important to note that Suffolk's proximity to larger cities like Chesapeake and Portsmouth may contribute to the prevalence of chlamydia in the area.

Risk factors related to chlamydia in Suffolk

Risk factors for chlamydia in Suffolk include being sexually active, having multiple sexual partners, and not using condoms consistently. Other factors such as age, with younger individuals being at higher risk, and socioeconomic factors, such as lack of access to quality healthcare, can also contribute to the risk.

Other STDs in Suffolk

In addition to chlamydia, other STDs such as gonorrhea, HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis are also present in Suffolk. Similar to chlamydia, these STDs often do not present symptoms but can lead to serious health problems if left untreated. Regular testing, therefore, is crucial for anyone who is sexually active.
