I was suffering for a week with cough and cold. Tried to treat it myself but wasn't working so I decided to go to the redi care. I was expecting it to be busy but there was only 1 other person in waiting room. I was in and out with 20mins with script for antibiotics. The female Dr was very nice and patient.

This was my first visit to this type of facility. I was miserable and thought I had the flu. I thought I’d give it a try instead of spending 3 or 4 hours waiting in the emergency room. The staff was efficient and friendly. I saw the doctor within 15 minutes and she was great. Great bedside manner, very professional and kind, too. She listened to all of my concerns and conducted a thorough exam. Overall, this was positive experience and I have highly recommended this facility to my friends and family. Thank you!

Nanticoke Chlamydia Testing

Who should get tested for chlamydia?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for chlamydia, especially if they have multiple partners or do not consistently use protection. This sexually transmitted infection (STI) is common among both men and women, and it often does not present any symptoms, making it easy to unknowingly spread to others. According to the CDC, sexually active women under the age of 25, as well as older women with risk factors such as new or multiple sex partners, should be tested annually.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for chlamydia is crucial as it often goes unnoticed due to its lack of symptoms, yet it can lead to serious health complications if left untreated. For women, untreated chlamydia can cause pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), which can lead to infertility or ectopic pregnancy. Men can also face complications, including infection in the urethra or testicles. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, preventing these complications.

Chlamydia testing options in Nanticoke, PA:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

At-home testing

At-home testing kits for chlamydia are another option. These kits can be ordered online, used in the privacy of your own home, and then sent to a lab for analysis. Results are typically available within a few days.

Prevalence of chlamydia in Nanticoke

While specific data for Nanticoke is not readily available, Luzerne County, where Nanticoke is located, has seen a steady increase in chlamydia cases over the past few years, mirroring the national trend. This highlights the importance of regular testing, especially for those in high-risk groups.

Risk factors related to chlamydia in Nanticoke

Risk factors for chlamydia include having multiple sexual partners, not using condoms consistently, and being under the age of 25. These factors are not unique to Nanticoke, but are consistent across the country.

Other STDs in Nanticoke

In addition to chlamydia, other STDs such as gonorrhea, HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis are also prevalent in Luzerne County. Regular testing for all STDs is recommended for sexually active individuals, especially those with multiple partners or who do not consistently use protection.
