Easy to schedule, they had a same day appt and I was able to book right at 9 am, staff and PA were SO nice, PA was informative and friendly, with great bedside manner and advice. My only opportunity area for this Urgent Care would be to reduce the wait time. It took 40 minutes before I even saw the PA from when I arrived with the 9 am appt. And all together I was there 1 hour and 30 minutes. PA was new and learning the ropes and computer systems, but this waiting time (with an appt) should look to be shortened in the future.

Emmaus Chlamydia Testing

Who should get tested for chlamydia?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for chlamydia, especially those with multiple partners or those who do not consistently use protection during sexual activity. The CDC recommends annual chlamydia testing for all sexually active women under 25 years old and for older women with risk factors such as new or multiple sex partners. Men who have sex with men should also be tested annually.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for chlamydia is crucial as the infection often shows no symptoms but can cause serious health problems if left untreated. According to the CDC, untreated chlamydia can cause pelvic inflammatory disease in women, which can lead to infertility, ectopic pregnancy, or chronic pelvic pain. In men, chlamydia can cause a condition called epididymitis, which may lead to infertility if not treated. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of these complications.
