Everything was well except the care. I did not get proper treatment and suggestions for my issue. Rather I would get the thing from over the counter

Premier Urgent Care, Huber Heights - 8290 Old Troy Pike, Huber Heights
Woke up with a very sudden sore throat as the primary issue. My ears sore, swelling & fatigue. It’s not often I feel ill enough to book an appt with urgent care but this had such a quick onset I didn’t feel wise to wait or push though it. The front desk staff & initial nurse were kind & friendly. The facility was very clean & easily accessible. However, the primary doctor was cold & not very helpful or insightful. I was refused antibiotics even though my ears showed signs of infection. I am an adult in 30s & had a tonsillectomy almost a year ago to improve my health. This past procedure was used as an excuse why I shouldn’t have antibiotics. More of an assumption of being exposed to too much antibiotics, which I do not agree with. Doctor told me to watch out for my ears so they don’t rupture because they are bulging. The only meds prescribed were allergy. Then instructed to rotate pain meds. This is the first time I have felt sick since having tonsils removed & is still new in some ways to navigate. I’m five days past the urgent care appt & feel absolutely miserable. I’ve taken meds as instructed & got worse. My throat & ears have lots of pain. I called the urgent care back to no avail or additional aid beyond suggesting for me come in again, which would charge me again. Luckily my primary care doctor was able to see me. I was diagnosed with a severe ear infection on top of a sinus infection that my body has clearly been fighting hard over. I was prescribed steroids & antibiotics at my primary doctor visit. There was little understanding why urgent care didn’t do this in the first place. Definitely feel that I was not taken seriously at urgent care, so the overall experience was extremely upsetting. Advice would be to resolve what is noticed within very first visit, so whatever is going on doesn’t worsen.

I went in for a fall that happened around 11:00 am was there about 2 hours before I was seen . Needed X-ray that’s why I chose to go there instead of my PCP….Did not know you could make an appointment but my needs were more urgent… not sure why they call it an urgent care? The care was good once I was seen.

Woke up this morning and found a tick buried in my arm. Generally I have no problem removing them. This one left its head in place. Unable to get an appointment with my PCP I went to Urgent Care in Troy. As a walk in check in went smoothly. Wait time was minimal. The staff was attentive and professional. Tick removed and headed home in less than 30 minutes.

I received texts prior to coming in confirming my appointment and the a text to check in when i arrived. Heidi took my insurance card and ID the saw me to a room. She took thorough history of symptoms, and check with Melissa APRN to see whst tests to run! Heidi explained test and how it would go and length of time it would take. Melissa was friendly took thorough history and explained all the tests she would run and how long results would take. In mean time she prescribed medications and informed me when test results would likely be back. Melissa also included what OTC remedies I could use for symptoms. Overall a great experience especially when I was feeling so awful. Great job highly recommend to others in this community! Thank you!.

Fairborn Chlamydia Testing

Who should get tested for chlamydia?

According to the CDC, sexually active women under the age of 25, older women with new or multiple sex partners, and men who have sex with men should get tested for chlamydia annually. Additionally, anyone who has unprotected sex or whose partner has tested positive for an STD/STI should also consider getting tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for chlamydia is crucial as it is often asymptomatic, meaning it doesn't always present symptoms. If left untreated, it can lead to serious health complications such as pelvic inflammatory disease in women and epididymitis in men, both of which can cause infertility. Moreover, chlamydia increases the risk of contracting other STDs, including HIV. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of complications.
