Quest Diagnostics - 6400 Dutchmans Pkwy
I was able to choose a Quest lab location and schedule an appointment. Check in was easy, and I only needed to provide my name and DOB. They were able to locate my order in their system. They were already aware that my labs were paid for prior to the appointment. I had my labs done on a Wednesday, and I received my results by Saturday. Great experience.

St. Matthews Chlamydia Testing

Who should get tested for chlamydia?

According to the CDC, anyone who is sexually active can get chlamydia, but the infection is most common among young women. Specifically, sexually active individuals under 25 years, as well as older individuals with risk factors such as new or multiple sex partners, or a sex partner who has a sexually transmitted infection, should be tested for chlamydia. Pregnant women should also get tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for chlamydia is crucial as it is often asymptomatic, meaning it does not show symptoms, and can lead to serious health problems if left untreated. These complications can include pelvic inflammatory disease in women, which can cause permanent damage to the reproductive system and lead to long-term pelvic pain, infertility, and ectopic pregnancy. In men, chlamydia can cause a condition called nongonococcal urethritis, an infection of the urethra. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, preventing these complications.
