Cedar Falls Chlamydia Testing

Who should get tested for chlamydia?

According to the CDC, anyone who is sexually active can get chlamydia, but the infection is more common in some groups. Women under 25 who are sexually active should get tested annually for chlamydia, as should older women with risk factors like new or multiple sex partners. Men who have sex with men should also get tested at least once a year. If you live in Cedar Falls, IA, and fall into any of these categories, it's crucial to get tested.

Importance of getting tested

Chlamydia is often silent, with many people not experiencing symptoms but still able to spread the infection. Untreated, it can lead to serious health problems like pelvic inflammatory disease in women and epididymitis in men, both of which can cause infertility. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, preventing these complications and stopping the spread of the disease.
