Overall terrible experience. Staff were helpful and friendly while I was there. In and out super quickly. However, they did not actually call in the prescription, so I didn’t get the much needed medicine. By the time the pharmacy figured out they weren’t getting the prescription, Urgent Care was closed. We called first thing the next morning, and they said they would resend the prescription. When I called back TWO AND A HALF hours later, they had not sent the prescription yet. It took forever to get through by phone. When I did, the staff was less than friendly and unhelpful. The new nurse practitioner said she “just sent it in” and told me the were very busy. She did not listen to my concerns nor did she consider calling in the prescription rather than sending it digitally, which my pharmacy recommended since they were not receiving it. The nurse practitioner admitted that they were having trouble with their system. I called my pharmacy back and they still did not receive the prescription. My pharmacy closes at 12:00. We started trying to get the antibiotics at 9:00. As I sit on hold again, I’m figuring that I will not get the prescription before they close, so hopefully I won’t die before I can try again Monday. Worst medical experience of my life.

About Celiac (Gluten) Disease Testing Panel

The Celiac Disease Testing Panel is a set of diagnostic tests used to identify Celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder triggered by the ingestion of gluten. This panel helps healthcare providers assess the presence of specific antibodies associated with Celiac disease and aids in confirming the diagnosis.

Who Should Get Tested

If you reside in Leola, Arkansas, and have symptoms suggestive of Celiac disease, such as chronic gastrointestinal issues, unexplained weight loss, fatigue, or skin rashes, Celiac Disease Testing Panel is recommended. Additionally, individuals with a family history of Celiac disease or other autoimmune disorders may benefit from this testing to rule out or confirm the condition.

Tests Included in Celiac Disease Testing Panel

The Celiac Disease Testing Panel typically includes the following tests:

  1. Tissue Transglutaminase Antibody (tTG-IgA): Measures the presence of antibodies produced in response to gluten ingestion.
  2. Endomysial Antibody (EMA-IgA): Detects antibodies directed against the body's own tissues affected by gluten ingestion.
  3. Total Serum IgA: Measures the overall level of immunoglobulin A (IgA) in the blood, which helps ensure accurate antibody test results.

Interpreting the Results

If the Celiac Disease Testing Panel shows elevated levels of tTG-IgA and EMA-IgA antibodies and normal total serum IgA, it indicates a high likelihood of Celiac disease. A positive result may lead to further evaluation, including an endoscopic biopsy of the small intestine to confirm the diagnosis.

Following the Test

If the Celiac Disease Testing Panel confirms Celiac disease, your healthcare provider will discuss dietary modifications to eliminate gluten from your diet. Gluten-free diets are essential for managing Celiac disease and preventing complications related to gluten consumption.

Early detection and proper management of Celiac disease through the Celiac Disease Testing Panel can lead to improved quality of life and prevent long-term health issues associated with gluten ingestion.
