I have NEVER had an issue here. Everyone is always friendly and the facility is always clean. I have been going here for over 20 years. Yes, sometimes there is a little but if a wait but it is never excessive and it’s normal for a health care facility.

Patient First Primary and Urgent Care , General Booth - 1605 General Booth Blvd, Virginia Beach
This is my second visit to this patient first location, both times I was seen very quickly and the treatment prescribed had me feeling better within days. I was seen yesterday by Dr. Crooks, he was kind, he listened and he explained everything I asked. I left with the medication I needed, went home and took Dr. Crooks advice and tossed out the nasal spray that was making my condition worse, took my meds and a nap. When I woke up I already felt better. Today less than24 hours later, there is 90% improvement in my breathing and coughing and 100% improvement in my state of mind! I was also given a chest X-ray and had blood work done. All staff members were very nice and respectful . I would 100% recommend Dr.Crooks and this location to anyone. I was in and out in an hour and twenty minutes at the most. Very satisfied customer- and you can post this if you like!😘

Getting Tested for STDs in Virginia Beach, VA

Who should get tested for STDs?

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that anyone who is sexually active should get tested for STDs. This includes individuals who have multiple sexual partners, those who engage in unprotected sex, and individuals who use intravenous drugs. It's also recommended for all sexually active women under the age of 25, as well as older women with risk factors such as new or multiple sex partners. Men who have sex with men should also get tested regularly, according to the CDC.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial as many STDs often show no symptoms but can lead to serious health complications if left untreated. Regular testing helps in early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of complications and preventing the spread to others. It's also an important step in maintaining overall sexual health and wellbeing.

The city's STD rates are relatively high compared to other nearby cities like Bayside and Norfolk, and counties such as New Castle County and Salem County.

Risk factors related to STDs in Virginia Beach

Several factors contribute to the high STD rates in Virginia Beach. These include high rates of unprotected sex, multiple sexual partners, and substance abuse. Additionally, lack of access to healthcare and low rates of regular STD testing contribute to the spread of these diseases. By addressing these risk factors and increasing access to testing services, Virginia Beach can work towards reducing STD rates in the community.
