I am so disgusted
I can not begin to express my complete disgust with this establishment. My husband was feeling ill and he called to make sure they took our insurance. It was around 5:00pm when he called. I had just gotten back from taking my 11 month old to the pediatrician and was driving from Sevierville back to Gatlinburg to pick him up to take him.
When I got home and made double sure he checked the hours. He said they closed at 7:00pm. So we drove through Pigeon Forge's heavy traffic to MD Express. When we arrived It was 6:05pm. We walked in and the receptionist exclaimed that they stop taking people after 6:00. I was absolutely furious. Was it too hard to tell my husband that over the phone? Why does this establisment say they are open until 7:00pm. If you stop taking people at 6:00pm then you close at 6:00pm. The receptionist who showed 0 sincerity or remorse said, "If we still took people up until 7:00pm then we wouldn't get out until 8:00pm." Well boo hoo! When a restaurant closes at 10 you can walk in 10 mins til and get sat. Yes it is rude, but the fact is being open means that up until that time you can walk in and get taken care of. How is anyone supposed to know that they stop taking people after 6:00pm? And the fact that we were so upset and it was only 5mins after is the most infuriating part. She fluttered her eyelashes and said, "We open at 9:00am tomorrow." Oh, okay that really helps us right now after driving all the way from Gatlinburg through traffic.
Find somewhere else to give your money to.

New to the area
I learned about MD Express upon moving to this location. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr Robert Maughon. I am shocked by the previous review, because it is far from my experience, in now over half a dozen visits. I have visited for a minor wrist injury, pneumonia, blood work, and to then set-up as a regular patient. The staff is extremely friendly and caring, although as you can imagine with any urgent location there are times that they are very busy. To be expected with such a knowledgeable and caring doctor, as Dr. Robert Maughon. I feel honored to be a patient and super happy that I have found such a wonderful group to care for my medical needs. I have made appointments as well as walked in. All appointments were handled in the most organized, expediate way possible. If you walk-in you may have a wait depending on how many others chose to do the same, seems common knowledge right? Thank goodness they have chosen to try to accommodate all those that seek treatment whether by appointment or otherwise. A huge "Thank you" to MD Express Cresent Health team and their amazing leader Dr. Robert Maughon. You are much appreciated!
