I was able to choose a Quest lab location and schedule an appointment. Check in was easy, and I only needed to provide my name and DOB. They were able to locate my order in their system. They were already aware that my labs were paid for prior to the appointment. I had my labs done on a Wednesday, and I received my results by Saturday. Great experience.

I have been dealing with Medi-Help for over 5 years now. I feel lucky and blessed to find this place comparing to UPMC and Allegheny Health System. With Medi-Help it is all about you and your health and well being not just money. The main reasons why I love this place is Dr. Nenad Janicijevic and Dr. Bora Janicijevic and how up to date and knowledgeable they are. It is funny that when I see Dr. Nenad Janicijevic at Medi-Help I get charge $25 only but if I met him at the ER I will pay a few thousand dollars for the same doctor. Dr. Nanad is an Emergency Physician and he is an Emergency Medicine physician for over 35 years. I would give the credit to Dr. Nenad Janicijevic for why I am still alive right now after I tested positive for COVID 19. Even a few years ago when I had the Flu type A. They took good care of me. A few years ago I recommended this place to all my friends and family and all of them go there now. Where else could we go! there is no place such as this place. It is not about how affordable the place is. It is also about the quality of the treatment and the knowledge they have. They are like a small hospital. They have X-ray, endoscopy tests, ultrasound, EKG, all kinds of blood tests, COVID Test (drive-through), and much more. I would give also credit to all nurses working there because even when they risk their lives and are slammed, they can help and serve patients. I highly recommend this place more than your PCP and your Urgent Care. You will know why when you go there. Thank you, Dr. Nenad and Dr. Bora for being my life-saving. I appreciate you very much.

Getting Tested for STDs in Washington, PA

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for STDs, especially if they have multiple partners or are not consistently using protection, such as condoms or dental dams. Certain groups may be at a higher risk for STDs, including young adults, men who have sex with men, and individuals who have a partner with a known STD. It is crucial to get tested if you are experiencing symptoms of an STD, which can include unusual discharge, itching, pain during sex, or sores on the genital area. However, many STDs can be asymptomatic, meaning they show no symptoms, so regular testing is essential even if you feel healthy.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is a crucial part of maintaining your overall health. Untreated STDs can lead to serious health complications, including infertility, cancer, and increased risk of HIV. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of these complications. It also helps prevent the spread of STDs to others. According to the CDC, routine testing is the most effective way to prevent the spread of STDs.

Std testing options in Washington, PA:

These facilities often have extended hours and do not require appointments, making them a practical option for those with busy schedules. In Washington, PA, you can find testing services at nearby urgent care centers like One Source Screening Solutions in Pittsburgh, PA, and Three Rivers Diagnostics, also in Pittsburgh, PA. Both of these locations have high ratings for their short wait times and friendly staff.

Primary care providers

Your primary care provider can also offer STD testing. This can be a comfortable option for many, as it allows you to discuss any concerns or symptoms with a healthcare provider you already know and trust.

Free STD testing and community health centers

For those without insurance or with limited income, free STD testing may be available at community health centers. These centers often offer sliding scale fees based on income, making testing more accessible for all.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits offer another convenient option for STD testing. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then sent back to a lab for analysis. Results are typically available online within a few days.

Prevalence of STDs in Washington

The prevalence of STDs in Washington, PA, is a significant concern. According to the CDC, Washington County has seen an increase in STD cases over the past few years, mirroring a national trend. This includes increases in chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis cases. It's important to note that these numbers only represent reported cases, and the actual number of infections is likely higher.

Risk factors related to STDs in Washington

Several risk factors may contribute to the prevalence of STDs in Washington, PA. These include a lack of comprehensive sex education, limited access to healthcare, and stigma around STD testing. Additionally, certain behaviors, such as unprotected sex and having multiple sexual partners, increase an individual's risk of contracting an STD.

To combat these risk factors, it's crucial to increase access to testing services and education about STD prevention.
