I went to this clinic on 6-24-19 having a terrible pain in my ear.On arriving, I met Patti Rinaldi, the nurse, who was very welcoming and sent me to registration. The staff was quick and efficient. The nurse returned to take me to the treatment room. There was something about her presence that made me feel at ease. I big thing for me since I tend to get anxious about medical situations. When the doctor (Dr. Nwosu) came in, he was professional and kind. He diagnosed my problem, told me what I needed to do, and sent me on my way, papers in hand to remind me of the visit. We are fortunate to have such a good urgent care in our area.

Diagnosed me with shingles, even though I didn't have a rash yet. The next day the rash showed up but the pain was already improving.

I will never go to another urgent Care center again, this is the best one I've ever been to, the staff was very friendly, courteous. I love the nurse she was very concerned about my son, I wish I knew her name. But very personable, sweet woman. The doctor was amazing, and asked all questions and was not in a rush. Thank you for getting my son better he's been sick for 2 weeks and his own pediatrician didn't even help. I will recommend this place and if I can give more stars I would.

This was my first visit to this type of facility. I was miserable and thought I had the flu. I thought I’d give it a try instead of spending 3 or 4 hours waiting in the emergency room. The staff was efficient and friendly. I saw the doctor within 15 minutes and she was great. Great bedside manner, very professional and kind, too. She listened to all of my concerns and conducted a thorough exam. Overall, this was positive experience and I have highly recommended this facility to my friends and family. Thank you!

I was suffering for a week with cough and cold. Tried to treat it myself but wasn't working so I decided to go to the redi care. I was expecting it to be busy but there was only 1 other person in waiting room. I was in and out with 20mins with script for antibiotics. The female Dr was very nice and patient.

Getting Tested for STDs in Carbondale, PA

STIs (sexually transmitted infections) are fairly common. You may be at risk of developing an STD or STI if you engage in sexual activity (sexually transmitted infection). STD cases have been on the rise for several years, according to the CDC, with 2.6 million new cases reported in 2019. Young people are especially vulnerable to sexually transmitted infections: approximately half of all new STD cases occur in people aged 15 to 24.

It's also possible to have an STD without any symptoms or indicators. You may unknowingly infect people if you are unaware that you have an STD. You may help avoid infection by getting tested for STDs and telling your current and prior sexual partners so that they can be tested as well. It's also possible to have an STD without any symptoms or indicators. General STD testing recommendations are as follows:

  • Everyone should be tested for HIV at least once, depending on their risk level. HIV testing should be done once a year for everyone who has had unprotected intercourse.
  • Once a year, sexually active women under the age of 25 should be tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia.
  • Sexually active women over 25 should be tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia once a year if they have an increased risk of infection, such as multiple sexual partners or a new partner.
  • Pregnant women should be tested for syphilis, HIV, and hepatitis B.
  • Sexually active gay men should have annual syphilis, chlamydia, and gonorrhea tests.

STD Testing FAQs

In a doctor's office, a health clinic, or an urgent care center, you can get an STD test. If you're experiencing symptoms, it's best to visit a doctor's office, where they can also treat you or issue you a prescription. • How long does it take to get STD test results?

Various testing are required for various STDs. Depending on the type of STD test you took, you may receive your results in two to ten days. Some outcomes may be immediately available. Your doctor may also take a swab from the inside of your cheek, your vaginal area, or another potentially infected place.

  • What STDs can be detected by a blood test?

Blood tests are used to diagnose hepatitis B, hepatitis C, herpes, HIV, and syphilis. In a laboratory, a technician examines a blood sample for antibodies that the body has produced in reaction to disease. The virus's DNA can also be detected by several blood tests. • Can I test myself for STDs at home?

Although there are several STD home tests available, not all of them are accurate. The accuracy of any STD test is determined by the quality of the sample taken. For home STD kits, a blood sample, a urine sample, or both are frequently required. Because doctors and nurses have more experience collecting samples, traditional in-office STD testing is the most accurate.
