    Hometown is a bummer

There seems to be a going trend in health care, more so with urgent cares & female drs assistants to prescribe apple pie, mom & Ibuprofen for everything under the sun if it merits it or not. If you are constipated take Ibuprofen. If you have diarrhea take Ibuprofen. If you suffer from ED besides the Ibuprofen, apple pie and mom a generous portion of whipping cream might help. Hometown on Scioto Darby is no exception. There is no Dr. on duty. Instead they employ a female Hispanic Drs assistant who looks like she just graduated from high school. The woman talks incessantly about things you do not care to hear about including her on-going battle with Crohn's disease & yeast infections. As for treating the patient she does absolutely nothing other than the mom/apple pie/Ibuprofen crap which is an insult to most peoples's intelligence. Most people try the over-the-counter route first, on their own. When the condition gets worse that is when most seek out a Dr. The last thing anyone wants to hear is go back to the over the counter routine and maybe you will feel better and be charged for it. Telling someone to go to Meijer or CVS and buy Ibuprofen is not practicing medicine. It is a cop-out, But with Hometown you are not dealing with a legitimate Dr. but rather a scatter-brained physician's assistant. There is a difference.
