Friendly Staff

I had occasion to see Dr. Amy Parker twice in the last couple of weeks, and have nothing but good things to say. She was thorough, sent me for the correct tests to make a diagnosis, referred me to an excellent specialist and made follow up calls to see how I was doing. The whole staff was professional and attentive.

We are from suburban Philadelphia and were visiting our son and his family when my husband’s “cold” became markedly worse. The nurse Megan and the Nurse Practitioner Donna were wonderful to us. They quickly assessed my husband’s conditon, had a chest xray done, and prescribed the appropriate medicine and care for what turned out to be pneumonia. The entire visit to this facility was favorable, from the ease of check-in to the friendliness of the xray tech. Although no one likes being sick “on vacation”, this was a good experience for us.

Getting Tested for STDs in Scarborough, ME

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). This includes individuals who are in monogamous relationships, as well as those who have multiple partners. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it is especially important for those who are under the age of 25, pregnant women, men who have sex with men, and anyone who has unprotected sex or shares injection drug equipment to get tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for maintaining good sexual health. Many STDs do not show symptoms, making it possible for individuals to unknowingly spread the infection to their partners. According to the CDC, early detection and treatment of STDs can prevent serious health complications, such as infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased risk of HIV infection. Furthermore, regular testing allows for better management of the condition and can help prevent the spread of the disease in the community.
