School Vaccinations and Physical
My son starts 6th grade in 7 days. He needs a physical before he can attend. I was in a time crunch. I called Brookside to see if they do 6th grade physicals. Yes they do and you do not need an appointment. We went in Tuesday afternoon. We got right in. The Dr. saw us right away abd conducted the exam. She told us we were done and was printing the physical sheet. I thought, no vaccinations, isnt that the whole point of a school physical? I asked the Dr. about the shots. She told me that Brookside doesnt di any vaccinations. I asked if the exam was enough to get my son into school. She said it "should" be. Went to the school on Wednesday to register my son. The school nurse told me that my son needed a tdap vaccine and could not start school without it.
School starts Monday. We had go to Walgreens to get him vaccinated and i have to bring the proof back to school before monday. I should have been told when I inquired about 6th grade physicals that they do not do vaccinations. I would not have gone there if i knew. I would have found somewhere that could both at one time and save some money and running around.
