    Billing Issue

I received excellent initial service and customer care at this location. My complaint lies in their billing policy. In this, I will strive to be informative and not simply "vent."

Upon initially scheduling my first visit, the Customer Service Representative, although very friendly and personable, failed to list my apartment number in my address. I was unaware of this, of course. I promptly started to receive the typical appointment emails, advertisements, and so on from Zoom+care via email. Upon my visit, I submitted my insurance, it was deducted from my bill, and I paid the remaining balance upfront. My appointment was straightforward, easy, and conclusive in nature. As a result, I did not pay much attention to the Zoom+care emails and eventually unsubscribed. A few months later while at an important business meeting, I got a call from a debt collector pursuing payment on a Zoom+care bill. I was blindsided by this phone-call. I was astounded. It turns out that my insurance did not pay what was anticipated by the receptionist, and I was billed for the remaining amount. Since they did not have the apartment number, my bill was returned unanswered. Zoom's one and only attempt to contact me was not by phone (although they had my correct number); they only sent out a single email requesting an updated address without saying why. This email was not seen or answered (I do receive a lot of emails from important sources, and I did not notice another Zoom+care email as an important email). No one at anytime tried to verbally contact me. Needless to say, I was very embarrassed to be on the phone with a debt collector. I am also aware that I am responsible for my own bills even if something unexpected comes up, but I was very disappointed that Zoom+care made no attempt to talk with me in person before submitting my bill to a debt collector. Because of this, it is my recommendation that you seek care elsewhere. Mind you, their doctor was great, their staff was friendly, but their billing policies are, in my opinion, unprofessional (I have talked on the phone with them about this to no avail; they stand by that single email attempt to collect the billing information.).
