Urgent Care For Kids - Keller Texas

I have been to this urgent care many time with all 3 of my children and have never had any major complaints until last night. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at any pediatric urgent care. While the front staff and nurse were great things went downhill quickly when the NP Connor came in the room to see my son. When discussing my child's illness and symptomatology with him I felt like I was being lectured about the choices I had made to try and help my son prior to bringing him to be seen. The condescending tone and general attitude with which I was being talked down to with was infuriating. After discussing my child's symptoms things only got worse from there! The NP Connor then turned to examine my son who was laying across my lap and verbatim said "sit up your not that sick". Are you kidding me! This is a pediatric facility and your going to talk to an ill 5 year old that way? Then he went to look in my sons ears and my son said ouch and pulled away. (Let me also add that that ear was grossly infected on exam). He put his hand on the back of his neck and said sit up your a big boy when I was trying to help stabilize my sons head so he could get a good view of his tympanic membrane. At this point my blood was boiling!!! Shame on you. You are a grown man treating a child that way. Aside for the fact that this is an adult interaction with a child let's also just say that it's in general horrible bedside manner. I was biting my tongue so hard that I was convinced I might bite a hole straight through it so as not to turn into "that crazy mom". At this point I was ready to leave so I didn't even ask for the strep test I felt was needed or steroids to help with the uncontrollable croup sounding cough (my son had petechia on his face from coughing so hard and so long). At that point he left the room to get the prescription for my son and when he returned he had a different tone and seemed to try and be nice. I am sure the nurse informed him that she thought I was medical given the terminology I was using and the fact that I knew exact dosing in milligrams of the medications my son had recieved from me at home. Sorry to say this interaction was to far gone to be influenced by his last ditch efforts to be nice. It's not right for him to treat any child or family this way but in the future it would probably be in his best interest to pay more attention so that he doesn't highly offend and anger a mom who also happens to be an acute care certified pediatric nurse practitioner with 11 years of experience!

    Rude and Uninformed Staff

The staff is uniformed and rude. I was told I could bring my child for a flu shot when I called beforehand and told them what insurance I had. When I got there I was told his insurance was not accepted and I could not pay cash. The woman at the front desk was loud and condescending when she should have been apologizing for someone at that location giving out the wrong information. I did not understand why I could not pay cash because I have never heard anything so ridiculous and instead of explaining she got emotional and threatened me with "oh you could loose your insurance" and other non sense that did not answer my question. People make mistakes, but to act like an idiot to parents when a staff member gives out the wrong information is unacceptable.

    HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. They CLEARLY advertise that they perform SCHOOL and sport physicals but REFUSED to do a SCHOOL physical for my daughter. My daughter needed a school & sport physical & the Dr refused to do a SCHOOL physical even though the forms required NO additional testing or exam. They said that school physicals have to be done by a pediatrician (NOT true). Doctor & staff were rude & a complete waste of time. Just plain lazy & didn't want to have to actually do any work. Save yourself time, aggravation & money and go to e-Care located at Custer & Eldorado. The staff there was SUPER NICE, had no problem doing a school & sport physical & it was only $20 instead of the $35 that Urgent Care would have charged. DO NOT EVER GO THERE.....A BUNCH OF TOTAL JERKS.
