As the company has expanded, they have expanded their administrative offices to Canonsburg and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The company has expanded rapidly throughout its short history, and now serves 14+ states with more than 150 clinics nationwide, mostly in the American Midwest and the East Coast. In 2015, the company was sold to Optum, a division of UnitedHealth Group, and announced plans to open at least 30 more clinics by the end of the year.

MedExpress Urgent Care operates and owns urgent care facilities in the following states; Arkansas, Florida, Delaware, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia – with new states being added every year.

In total, the company has at least 150 clinics in these service areas, with the highest concentration of clinics in Pennsylvania and the East Coast. MedExpress clinics are not open 24/7. The majority of clinics are open from 8-8 every day.

The services at MedExpress fall into four primary categories; illness, injury, wellness & prevention, and work-related services.

Illnesses such as allergies, cold and flu, and respiratory ailments can be treated at MedExpress. Minor injuries such as cuts, lacerations, stings, broken and sprained bones can be treated at these clinics, which offer x-ray services.

Prevention includes vaccines and immunizations, as well as flu shots, physical examinations for work, school, and more, and comprehensive testing. The company also offers work physicals and drug/alcohol screening for employers.

MedExpress accepts all major insurers in each geographic region that they serve. However, coverage can vary on a state-to-state and regional basis. Patients can check the status of their insurance carrier on the MedExpress website.

The company offers online bill payment, and also accepts cash, checks, credit and debit cards. They also offer a discount to patients who chose to pay their bill in full immediately.
