    Pain

Dr Taillon was my Dr and would not give anything. To control my pain when I was there is was being mean and sickening to me and my husband over lies.

Wait time was adequate for the number of patience there and Dr. O'Malley and staff was adequate for managing my pain, xray revealed I had a broken bone in foot, they bandaged it nicely and I was referred to call for appointment with orthopedic doctor. Good experience.

Waste of time -Go to Medcare instead! They are faster and have better doctors

I took my husband to this Urgent Care on Saturday of a 3 day weekend because he was having symptoms of a kidney stone (he's had several in the past so knows what they feel like). The doctor barely examined him, stated that the place where he was hurting was a little low to be a kidney stone, and recommended that he take ibuprofen. He didn't even offer a diagnosis!!! I've heard from friends and family that a lot of urgent care places don't treat kidney stones because some people use that to try and get prescription pain drugs.

For the record, we are middle aged, middle class people with professional jobs who do not look like junkies! Nevertheless, I have to assume that this is how this doctor profiled us, because he did not seem to be interested in diagnosing my husband at all. If he did not think the pain was from a kidney stone, you would think he would have at least attempted to figure out where it was coming from, but nope - not so much as a "perhaps you should follow up with your regular doc if the pain is still there after a couple days". Therefore, the remainder of our holiday weekend was ruined while my poor husband waited for Tuesday to come so he could visit a real doctor who would address the problem.

It is a sad state of affairs that apparently some doctors feel that it is better to let sick patients be sent home untreated than to risk giving drugs to a person who may be faking. I have had nothing but positive experiences at MEDCARE across from the hospital, and their wait times are much less than the times I've been to Urgent Care. I CAN PROMISE NO MEMBER OF MY FAMILY WILL EVER AGAIN WASTE TIME AND MONEY TO VISIT ANY URGENT CARE LOCATION. I hope Medcare puts them out of business with their superior service. No one deserves to go in for an urgent medical matter and be sent home with out even a suggestion of a diagnosis! That's just wrong!

    Rude is an understatement

In all my years of being a nurse myself. I am in total disbelief how mean the nurse was. Not rude but mean and sarcastic to the patient I was with. I can't understand why you would allow someone with his attitude to work there. He has no sympathy for anyone. While we were in the exam room I could hear him talking to another nurse with the same hateful cold comments. His exact words were I don't care. I said something to the nurse who was discharging us and was told he's like that to everyone. His name is Michael. Not that you Lexington Medical care but just thought I would give his name. I will not recommend you to anyone I will go out of my way to discourage anyone from coming there. Why come there? Only to be treated like a dog.

    Nice surprise

After reading other reviews, I wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised when I received excellent care and didn't have to wait very long compare to other urgent cares. The doctor and nurses were very thorough.

    Excellent care, very thorough!

The reviews we saw were less than encouraging, but we were pleasantly surprised! The wait time was very reasonable, and the nurses, doctor and all the staff were very helpful and gave my wife excellent care while she was in pain. I would definitely recommend going there!

Dr. Harmon is has no business dealing with patients.

A few years ago before I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts and endometriosis I saw Dr. Harmon and he insinutated that I was a drug addict only after pain meds. After a subsequent partial hysterectomy I have developed cysts on my remaining right ovary causing pain as well as TMJ. I was seen four days ago and given routine treatment for that but when I returned as instructed, Dr. Harmon never examined me, never palpated my jaw and proceeded to accuse me of being addicted to pain pills. I even asked for a referral to an ENT which he could not even answer me about because he was going on and on asking me personal questions that had nothing to do with my visit. I suggest if you want to be treated like a person, do not see Dr. Harmon.

If you don't know... Refer me elsewhere!

I went for what I thought was a scratched eye, thinking I would receive the quickest service here before the eye doctor. I told the doctor about my possible scratched eye. As expected, my eye was stained and reviewed under a black light. The doctor concluded that "You might have a little scratch." These were almost the exact words I used, but I accepted that my guess might have been right and accepted the prescription of eye drops. The next day I decided to call my regular eye doctor to schedule an appointment to see about when I could wear contacts again. On the phone my optomistrist was really worried about the eye drops I was prescribed and that I may have been told wrong. I ended up going to my optomistrist and found out there is NO scratch on my eye at all. It's clear! Instead, I had a stye under my eyelid pop. The eye drops Lexington prescribed was primarily for INFANTS and wouldn't have helped deter infection. Look, Urgent Care, it's okay to tell patients you need to refer them to specialists or the like if you don't know what's wrong with a patient! Very disappointed.

    Why?

These people are racist, they kept letting people (white patients) that came after go before me. The NP was mean and angry coming through the door.

Came in today after work and they asked for ID I showed her my work ID, but she wanted my license instead. I stated clearly when did you start ask for lD at sign in, her response some things have changed. I asked some of the other patients did they ask for their license they told me no. They only asked the black lady.

    Not a Place for Care!

Summary: Very deceptive place! Save Yourself! DON’T COME HERE! These people will smile in your face while neglecting to give full medical care and charging you for it! I am not White... I picked of a Very Strong Subtle Racist Vibe at the LMC Urgent Care. Most of the staff here has a very nice act. Acting nice should never be confused with being kind and giving caring.

Experience: The Dr. named Shennan refused to touch/examine me while giving an excuse about seeing how swollen I was. He claimed that my thumb was “self draining” since a small bit of pus had burst out around my cuticle on the drive to the Urgent Care. He then proscribed antibiotics, and a highly addictive narcotic drug that can cause you to stop breathing. I have Asthma by the way. He told me that I should keep pushing the pus buildup out of my thumb on my own, but the most important thing was to take the meds. (Remember he claimed he was not going to touch me because he could see how swollen and painful I was, but now... now he wanted me to know that I can push the pus out of my swollen thumb MYSELF through the very very small rupture in my thumb at home… ALONE.) He again claimed everything would be ok if I just took the meds.
His male nurse came in to dismiss us (I do not remember his name, and all the other nurses and staff were women… this is why I make a noted distinction) and he parroted the doctor about the medication. I asked the nurse about the doctor medically cutting my thumb to help me drain the pus when he asked if I had any questions; his attitude got a little stank as he said that the Doctor didn't think it was necessary. The nurses nice act then went out the window as he reminded me that we were dismissed, and he very tartly said “well that’s a good question… that was a good question” (as if he thought I would be more dull-witted) and he rushed out the door; I got the point and my sister and I left the room... the remaining staff and that nurse immediately told us bye.

Backstory: My sister was kind enough to drive me to the Lexington Medical Center Urgent Care (LMC Urgent Care) on a Tuesday night, because I didn't want to go to an emergency room. The use of my right hand had become excruciating over the past week because my thumb had been swelling up for approximately 7 days. I had tried to self medicate by taking something that would reduce the swelling (Aleve aka naproxen) but that was not helping. (My thumb had gotten so big it could NOT wrinkle after soaking!) Clearly it was not just a bruise or swelling from a bug bite… I knew it had to be an infection, and that I needed antibiotics and draining. I have never been to a doctor for Paronychia before so I (not being medically trained) was determined to allow the professionals to do their job, and tell me the treatment I needed. You should be able to rely on medical help if you go to a doctor!

    Final Statements:
AGAIN I am not White… I picked of a Very Strong Subtle Racist Vibe at the LMC Urgent Care!

In my patient instructions there is a statement about how ONLY “sometimes it is necessary to open the infection to let it drain”. I wonder how much bigger my thumb needed to be before the doctor would bring himself to touch me... let alone provide me with a true examination, or the necessary medical care. (There are many videos online posted by M.D.s showing their treatment and examination of my very condition!) I was not treated. I was to be pacified by niceties and deadly medication... but not treated!

I was in terrible physical pain while at LMC Urgent Care, but my sister and I tried to remain pleasant and lighthearted through the ordeal. I will not be going back to this facility! I don’t want any doctor that my insurance is paying to treat me medically, but doesn't really want anything to do with their profession when it comes to me to reap the benefit of my patronage.
