    Bad Office Policy

This clinic requires patients to provide their Social Security number (SSN#) for their files. Having worked in health care for 38 years, I can tell you there is no reason for your doctor to need your SSN#! Medicare is issuing new cards with new numbers starting in April 2018 to get away from SSN#s. Per their policy if you don't provide your SSN# they want $200 in cash as a retainer. Since the office was unrelenting, even after I voiced my HIPAA concern, I walked out and chose a different provider who never asked for my SSN.
