AFC Urgent Care was first known as American Family Care, which was founded in 1982 by Dr. Bruce Irwin in Birmingham, Alabama. It is a healthcare company that operates over 200 urgent care centers across 26 states and serves nearly three million patients annually. It anticipates expanding and operating more than 500 clinics within the next several years. AFC Urgent Care has a mission to provide the best possible healthcare in a kind and caring environment while respecting the rights of every patient. In addition to providing urgent care, its clinics provide primary care, occupational medicine, and minor emergency treatment services.
