Urgent Care FAQs

  • How much will an urgent care visit in Breckenridge cost?

The price charged at an urgent care, whether in Breckenridge or elsewhere, will be based on the location, and there are no actual standard costs between the clinics. Assuming you are paying with cash, you might come across an urgent clinic that charges you $50 while another situated some mile away charges you $100 for the same services. The standard cost in urgent care where insurance cover is not involved ranges from $100 to $125. This price is generally the standard price of a visit before extra services. There are a couple of additional care services that could make your appointment to an urgent care costly including x-rays and lab tests, medications and injections (such as immunization), casting broken bones, as well as stitches and splints. If you have a viable insurance plan in place, the standard pay will be between $20 – 50 depending on your insurance coverage and whether you are in contact with the provider.

  • Are Breckenridge urgent care centers open after hours?

  • What is urgent care?

Urgent care are available to assist patients that are looking for immediate, convenient medical care. In that manner, they are similar to an emergency room. The difference, however, is that ERs are meant to treat major, life-threatening injuries and illnesses while urgent care centers manage life’s minor bruises and bumps. In simple terms, an urgent care is seen as a walk-in health center that focuses in offering non-emergent health care conditions, including the treatment of the typical illnesses and injuries such as fractures and sprains, cuts and burns, scrapes, stings and bites, flu and cold symptoms, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, and much more. Most urgent care facilities offer both diagnostic and preventive care such as well visits, immunizations, STD testing and annual physicals. For regular visits and check-ups on these clinics, you should expect to pay between $20 and $100. The good thing is that most urgent care clinics will accept major PPOs and insurance cover, Medicare, as well as self-pay in the form of credit cards or cash. Urgent care clinics are located in most parts of the country in various regions to offset emergency room visits and provide a gap in healthcare services. They take patients during all hours of operations, which offer a significant convenience to most people who have and continue to undergo the need for sudden and immediate medical attention.

I couldn’t believe how quickly we were in and out! Every other urgent care experience I’ve had seemingly took forever, with more time spent waiting that receiving care, but this was the opposite. We were there for a minor thing (ear infection). They cared for my son quickly, diagnosed the problem & sent us on our way with everything we needed. Will absolutely be returning.

After a month of pain, exams, scans, and trying to figure out what was causing my pain I went back to On Point Urgent Care. They were great a month earlier and even better this time. I finally got an official diagnoses and an so thankful to know what has been causing my pain. Incredibly thankful for the staff and the time and patience they put into this visit with me.

I took my 2 year old daughter here because she was very sick with fever, runny nose, cough and vomiting. Before I came here I went to her pediatrician and the doctor said it was just a cold but that was before she started vomiting. On point urgent care was very helpful and the staff where so friendly making sure that my daughter felt comfortable and provided us with a diagnosis and prescribed medication. I highly recommend them for use when getting into the doctors is unavailable.

The staff went above and beyond. I didn't want to come in to clinic for a visit because I am high risk for Coronavirus. They were understanding and offered to do the tele appt and then I could drive up for exam / swab. The manager, medic, and PA were all fantastic. I feel so much better today with some meds in my system, and I'm grateful to Durango Urgent Care for their professionalism and kindness. I feel fortunate to have been their first telemedicine appointment!

Customer service is really lacking in our society these days. I was very impressed with this clinic. Front desk staff were attentive and very friendly. The doctor was very nice and had great bed side manners. I have never been told “Welcome” at an urgent care. Thank you for making our visit a very pleasant one. We were very pleased with the appointment.

While no one should have a "favorite" urgent care facility, this is definitely mine. In the last five years I've been here three times for various things and it's always a good experience. Every single person I've encountered is pleasant to work with and very good at what they do. I've had the pleasure of working with Dr. Rogg in two of those visits and she's phenomenal. I would definitely recommend this urgent care, even if the wait time is a bit long.

On hold last night over an hour apt made in Arvada for rapid coVI’d test this morning right before apt texted to let me know they do not have any testing kits so they tell me to call all urgent cares to find if they have rapid test kits wait on hold again finally get an apt for noon hurry to get there but five minutes late so they treat me as a walk-in and make me do paper work again once called in they were nice and took care of me this new transfer all calls to a call center does not work people who answer are polite but do not understand how to meet needs for apt old and wait time is not acceptable

It was the most caring and friendly hospital visit I've ever had, I'm very stubborn about going to clinic's, they make me nervous and I feel like just another number on there to do list, but the Next Care Urgent Care in Arvada made me feel like I was a long time friend of the family, it was very neat and organized, and they asked if I could stay 15-20min after my treatment to make sure the shot I received didn't make me nauseous, and they spent extra time to explain everything that was wrong with me, and answered all my questions without looking at me like I was delaying there day, and the gentleman that checked me in was very professional and very polite, even with my worn out Medicaid card, he was looking at it like it was brand new, and helping other folks and taking care of the phone calls all at once without even missing a beat, and a smile on his face the whole time he did it, that takes pride and dedication to be able to do something like that, trust me on that because I have been to the doctor's dozens of time's in my life, and over the last 7yrs. I haven't been to the clinics at all because of the the way I have been treated, but today's visit that I wasn't even going to go to made me feel like there are clinic's that actually treat people like the way they would want to be treated if they were wearing someone else's shoes, it definitely took all the stress and anxiety away from me about all the bad experiences I've had in the past, Thank You Very Much Next Care, You Folks Are Awesome. yours truly Bryan B.

Last night I cut my finger pretty bad and ended up going to OnPoint Urgent care. I was so stressed and was having a small anxiety attack as I have a huge fear of needles. Dr Leah and her team were OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING!!!! From the lady that answered my call and walked me through the whole process to the nurse that asked all the questions- I couldn't believe how easy it all was and how amazing the whole team was!! if and when I do need them again- this is the ONLY urgent care I will go to!! Thank you to everyone at OnPoint last night, you were all truly unbelievable!!! (PS our 4 year old daughter LOVED the blue balloon!)

I came into OnPoint urgent care at the suggestion of my doctor. First time visit at the Highlands Ranch location. Check-in was easy. The waiting area was spacious and clean. I didn't have much of a wait. Doctor came in right away and friendly, quick to begin treatment. Staff regularly checking in for status and progress. Later found out this was one of the busiest days; yet I felt no urgency on their part to rush me out. All things considered a great experience DL

Great experience from the get go! I am here from Texas helping my son and DIL with newborn and toddler i had flu like symptoms so I called the 888 number to schedule an appt! Rep was professional friendly and very helpful! Not familiar with Colorado I got lost finding the Urgent care location. GPS took me elsewhere. Nick was awesome and helpful! He was able to direct me to their location. The staff at Next Care was wonderful! Everyone was friendly and professional. In and out in a timely manner! Thank you! I would highly recommend this urgent care!

This was the best urgent care experience I have ever had, from the moment I checked in w my son w his injured leg from a bad skateboarding blowout, to the moment we checked out after exam, X-rays, knee brace and crutches. Short wait, easy check in, most friendly staff ever. They just made the whole process easy and very accommodating.

I had to get a rapid COVID test for attending a concert, and used OnPoint due to my regular physician being booked. This could have been something to easily dismiss as mundane and routine - thus cutting corners on service/bed-side manner. Definitely not the case with this visit. The online process to register, book appointment, and check in was very easy to navigate and get through quickly. The staff with whom I interacted were all friendly, and professional with a genuine care for me as a patient/customer. I will definitely be returning to On Point for any future urgent care needs.

I came to this urgent care for a concern with my two month old baby. I was trying to nurse and fill out paperwork in the lobby when Violetta at the front desk noticed me struggling. She brought me into an exam room to wait and nurse in privacy. I was so thankful for this kindness. The entire staff was so wonderful and accommodating.

I went in today after running a fever for a few days. They were so helpful and kind, and thankfully as sick as I was, I didn't have a wait. They got me right in. Did a few tests and determined I had the flu. They put me on an IV drip for about an hour to rehydrate me. Prescribed necessary meds. I will definitely recommend this urgent care to anybody! The guy who took my vitals and did the tests for strep and flu was super nice (I wish I could remember his name). And the woman who recommended the IV drip was very helpful as well. It was a good experience in the midst of my ill misery. Thank you!

I went to a different urgent care prior to yours and it was a 3 hour wait. I was in and out of your facility in 30 minutes. The online paperwork is so much more efficient. It was the best experience I’ve ever had going to an urgent care facility. I will definitely return when needed and refer you to everyone I know. Staff and doctors were amazing! Thank you so much for your time and effort

I was reluctant to come in just because I haven’t had to may great experiences with urgent care groups. This time was different. You got my information quickly and responded with great care. I was in and out faster than the doctors office with an X-ray. Thanks very much I feel a lot better Thanks Kevin

- Verified patient on 11/24

I needed a strep test and was unable to get in to see a dr at a Family Practice as they aren’t new patients at this time. I previously went to another urgent care and was told the wait would be 2 to 3 hours, there was no way of setting up an appointment in person or online. The front desk at NextCare was incredibly helpful in helping me to navigate how to set up an appointment and what to expect once the appointment was set. I was able to be seen the same day, and get my results quickly. I am so thankful for your help today!

- Verified patient on 5/17

Each person I interacted with was very friendly while professional. They seem to be running a well organized operation and have a good system down. They communicated with me often and effectively before, during, and after treatment. This was an excellent experience, especially considering the crummy circumstances requiring me to visit an urgent care. Will absolutely return here if I ever have the need. Thank you

Getting Urgent Care in Breckenridge, CO

Urgent care in Breckenridge is your best option for non-life threatening, quality medical care when you need it. Many urgent care centers in Breckenridge offer walk-in appointments during extended hours and on weekends. Solv even has clinic partners in the Breckenridge-area that offer online scheduling, allowing you to book a visit convenient to your schedule and skip the wait.

Walk-in clinics provide a convenient, fast alternative to emergency rooms—even primary care providers—treating minor injuries and illnesses including strep throat, infections, cold and flu symptoms, allergies, rashes, burns, bites, and more. Additionally, most offer preventative care including annual well exams, lab testing, and vaccinations.

When you’re in need of medical care for a non-life threatening condition, trust the urgent care providers nearby. And whenever possible, make it easier by scheduling and managing your visit with Solv.

A Patient's Guide to Urgent Care

In a recent survey conducted with the Urgent Care Association, Solv found that patients were waiting an average of 24 days for appointments with their primary care provider. In a world of instant gratification, consumers demand more. They demand now. If you want to watch a movie, you download it in minutes or stream it instantly. If you need groceries, you can pick up your phone and have them delivered to you within the hour. If you need restaurant reservations, you find one with availability, book online, walk in minutes later and sit right down. Healthcare shouldn’t be any different.

That’s why urgent care has been growing at a faster pace than any other healthcare service in the United States. And it is why healthcare consumers search for “urgent care” more than 5x more than “primary care” or “family doctor,” combined. These consumers are highly actionable, searching with high intent terms like “urgent care near me.” They want same day access to quality healthcare providers when they are sick or injured - after hours, one weekends and on holidays - without the cost and inconvenience of the emergency room.

Urgent care centers typically treat minor illnesses like the flu, sinus infections and strep throat, as well as injuries like bone fractures and sprains, cuts, scrapes and burns, making these clinics ideal for diagnosing and treating non-emergent healthcare needs. And at a growing rate urgent care clinics are offering preventative care services including annual physicals and well visits, flu shots and other immunizations and vaccines, taking on the role of primary care provider for the tens of millions of consumers that don’t have one.

For kids there are special pediatric urgent care centers, usually open after hours for patients between the ages of 1 and 18.

Urgent Care Services & Pricing

Urgent care centers, which are part of the walk-in clinic healthcare category, are a convenient resource for consumers needing treatment for minor illnesses and injuries. Services that you would normally receive at your primary care office are usually available at an urgent care including annual and school physicals, flu shots and immunizations, treatment for illnesses including colds, flu stomach pains, sinus and ear infections and more. You can also be seen for injuries such as burns, bites, sprains and breaks - things that you might first thing to go to the emergency room vs urgent care, but you’ll have a shorter wait and smaller bill at the urgent care. As for cost, without insurance, you should expect between $100-140 for your visit, plus the cost of any labs, tests or images. With insurance, urgent care will be similar to seeing a specialist with applicable co-pay.

Insurance & Payments

Nearly all urgent care centers take commercial insurance and many (if not most) will take medicare. As such if you have insurance coverage, you can expect the financial experience to be similar to visiting a specialist where you have a co-pay, usually $35-50, due at the time of the visit. Any additional lab work, x-rays or other tests performed will be billed against your insurance first and any supplemental balance due will be invoiced to you after the fact. Without insurance, you’ll pay a visit fee between $100-140 at the time of your visit. This is typically 25-50% more than your primary care provider, but usually the convenience is well worth the additional cost. If you are interested in a telehealth or video visit, your cost could be as much as 50% less than an urgent care, you could be diagnosed and prescribed medication and you’ll never have to leave your home.

Urgent Care Hours & Wait Times

Every urgent care center - even those part of the same group or brand - may have different hours. While they are meant to be conveniently accessible during times when your primary care provider is not, that’s subjective and highly variable. A traditional formula, however, is that an urgent care is open 6 to 7 days a week usually between the hours of 8 am to 8 pm. That could shift to nearly any 8-12 hour period between 7 am and 10 pm. You’ll even find some clinics open 24 hours a day, similar to an emergency room. As for wait time, most patients report waiting between 15-45 minutes on average, but that can certainly vary, as well. It’s usually best to find an urgent care near you to either confirm the hours online, or call the clinic directly to verify. Or, you can book a same day doctor appointment online with Solv.
